Description

Benzene, 1-bromo-4-[(trimethylsilyl)oxy]- is an immobilized catalyst that can be used for the epoxidation of olefins. It is enantioselective and contains two oxygen atoms. The chiral center is a stereogenic carbon atom with four different groups attached to it. One of these groups is a silyl group and the other three are methyl groups. This molecule has both an electron donating group (the silyl group) and an electron withdrawing group (the methyl groups). Benzene, 1-bromo-4-[(trimethylsilyl)oxy]-, has shown to be catalytic in many types of reactions including the epoxidation of olefins.
