It also has been shown to be useful as an oxidative reagent for the synthesis of alkynyl derivatives. The crystallography of 3-nitro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine has been studied at high temperatures and at room temperature using x-ray crystallography and metathesis reactions.
