Description

1-Ethoxymethyl-1H-imidazole is an aromatic compound that contains a 1,2,4-triazole ring. It is a colourless solid that has a melting point of 148°C. The molecular formula for 1-ethoxymethyl-1H-imidazole is C5H7N and the molecular weight is 133.16 g/mol. The elemental analysis of this compound revealed that it contains the following percentages: C: 47.14%, H: 5.83%, N: 17.75%. This compound also has disulphide and configurational bonds, which are stable in the solid state but can be broken down in solution to form an imidazole molecule with two different charges. Imidazoles are usually used as catalysts for organic reactions or as pharmaceuticals because they are able to bind to many types of substances and change their shape or structure in order to make them more reactive.
