2,6-Diisopropylbenzoic acid is an organic compound that belongs to the class of phenols. It is used in organic synthesis as a monomer and a crosslinker. 2,6-Diisopropylbenzoic acid has been shown to be a chemokine that binds to the chemokine receptor CXCR2. This binding induces the activation of G proteins, leading to the activation of phospholipase Cβ (PLCβ) and increased intracellular calcium levels. The increase in intracellular calcium levels leads to the activation of protein kinase C (PKC) and subsequent phosphorylation of PKC substrates such as extracellular signal regulated kinases (ERKs). This mechanism mediates the effects of 2,6-diisopropylbenzoic acid on cell migration and proliferation.
2,6-Diisopropylbenzoic acid has also been shown to
