Description :Phen-DC3 is a fluorescent derivative that belongs to the class of pyridostatin analogues. It is a small molecule with an anti-cancer effect and can be used as a model system for studying cellular processes such as DNA replication, transcription, and translation. Phen-DC3 binds to nuclear dna and prevents the formation of dna duplexes by binding to the minor groove of the double helix. This binding leads to inhibition of RNA synthesis and DNA replication. The compound also inhibits protein synthesis by inhibiting ribosomes. Phen-DC3 has been shown to have polymorphic activity against cancer cells in vitro, which may be due to its ability to inhibit rna replication in cancer cells.
