• Description: N-((S)-1-((((2R,3S)-3-Amino-6-((2-methoxyethoxy)methoxy)-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-2-yl)methyl)(4-bromobenzyl)amino)-1-oxo-3-phenylpropa n-2-yl)benzamide (NBP) is a peptide that has been used as an activator of the ion channels. It is a potent inhibitor of the human potassium channel Kv1.1 and also inhibits the human ether lipid transporter ABCB4. NBP binds to the extracellular domain of Kv1.1 and blocks the current through this channel. This inhibition can be reversed by increasing extracellular potassium concentrations or by adding a competitive inhibitor such as 4,4'-diisothiocyanatostilbene 2,2'-disulfonic acid
