Description :
2-(5-Benzyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)ethanamine is a supramolecular ligand that is soluble in water. It has been shown to exist as a number of different polymorphic forms. 2-(5-Benzyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)ethanamine has been used to bind lanthanide ions and form a complex. This complex is stable in solution and the range of binding sites for lanthanides can be varied by changing the linker length. The ligands are also reactive with metal ions such as Cu(I) and Fe(III).
