Description :
1-boc-2-(cyanomethyl)pyrrolidine is a chiral compound that can be used to produce enantiomerically pure amino acids. This compound has been shown to catalyze the hydrogenation of prochiral olefins, such as trans-4-hydroxy-l-proline. The stereospecific synthesis of 1-boc-2-(cyanomethyl)pyrrolidine involves the use of trans-4-hydroxy-l-proline as a surrogate substrate in a convergent fashion.
