• Description: FTI 277 is a research tool that is used to study ion channels and protein interactions. It is an activator ligand that activates the receptor, which in turn promotes calcium release through the opening of ion channels. FTI 277 binds to the receptor and interacts with cell biology, such as the activation of antibody production. FTI 277 has been shown to inhibit the activity of peptides and proteins, such as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP). It also inhibits the activity of an enzyme called acetylcholinesterase (AChE), which breaks down acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter.
