Triisopropoxy(vinyl)silane is a cross-linking agent that can be used to prepare polymeric matrices. It has been shown to react with the hydroxyl groups on the surface of various substrates, such as glass, silicon, and ceramics, to form a cross-linked polymer film. This product has a particle size of less than 1 micron in diameter and a hydroxyl group at one end. The other end contains an aromatic hydrocarbon substituent and a reactive cross-linking site. Triisopropoxy(vinyl)silane is insoluble in water and does not decompose under normal conditions. It also does not react with dibutyltin oxide or other chemical reagents under normal conditions.
