Description :
2-Bromohexadecanoic acid is a fatty acid that is found in the human body as a component of the phospholipid palmitate. It has inhibitory properties on palmitoylation, ATP binding cassette transporter, and other protein activities. 2-Bromohexadecanoic acid also inhibits protein synthesis in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and human osteosarcoma cells. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231). This compound may be used for the treatment of cancer and metabolic diseases due to its ability to affect diverse cellular pathways.
