Description :
Ethyl 2-cyclopentylacetate is an organic solvent that inhibits the formation of beta-amyloid peptides, which are thought to play a role in Alzheimer's disease. It also has an inhibitory effect on the production of nitric oxide (NO), which is implicated in cardiovascular disorders. This compound is used as a reagent for the synthesis of imidazole derivatives and trifluoromethylated alkylthio compounds. Ethyl 2-cyclopentylacetate can be used as a solid catalyst for reactions involving β-amino acids and α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids.
