Description

1-(2-Propynyloxy)naphthalene is a naphthalene derivative that has been shown to have a wide variety of biological effects. It has been found to be an antibacterial agent, and was also shown to have low cytotoxicity against human cancer cells. This compound may be useful as a fluorescent marker for hydroxyl groups in biological studies due to its redox potential. 1-(2-Propynyloxy)naphthalene has been used in the synthesis of azobenzene derivatives, which are used as fluorescent probes.
