4'-tert-Butyl-4-chlorobutyrophenone is a butyrophenone that has potent antitumor activity. It binds to dopamine receptors, which may be the cause of its antipsychotic effects. It also inhibits the production of malonic acid and other metabolites in human serum, which may be the cause of its antihistamine effects. 4'-tert-Butyl-4-chlorobutyrophenone has been shown to have matrix effect and pharmacokinetic properties, as well as receptor binding. The drug has been shown to be effective against locomotor activity, symptoms of Parkinson's disease, and rotarod tests on mice. 4'-tert-Butyl-4-chlorobutyrophenone is used as a pharmaceutical drug for treating symptoms of Parkinson's disease such as tremors.
