Description :
(S)-(+)-Neomenthyldiphenylphosphine (S)-NMDPP is a chiral phosphine ligand that can be used as a reagent in organometallic reactions. It is prepared by the reaction of methyllithium with dimethoxybenzene and diphenylphosphine. The phosphine ligand has been shown to be effective in the alkylation of chloride, imines, and amides with Grignard reagents. (S)-NMDPP can be used as a preparative crystallization agent for metal ions. It also has been shown to catalyze the formation of chlorinated hydrocarbons from benzene and chlorine.
