Phosphine, dicyclohexyl(1,1-dimethylethyl)- is an inorganic base. It is a colorless gas with a characteristic odor. This compound is used in chemical synthesis to produce phosphine oxide and phosphonic acid derivatives. Phosphine, dicyclohexyl(1,1-dimethylethyl) has been shown to be effective in the treatment of psychosis and has a low incidence of side effects. It can be administered orally as well as intravenously.
