• Description: L-4-Oxalysine hydrochloride is a halogenated, amidino, acid derivative of the amino acid, L-lysine. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme oxide synthase and has been shown to be effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis. L-4-Oxalysine hydrochloride inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase and by blocking the conversion of arachidonic acid to PGE2. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties and can inhibit protein synthesis in cells.
