Veledimex (S enantiomer) is a small molecule that inhibits the activation of potassium channels by peptides. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of voltage-gated potassium channels in rat dorsal root ganglion cells, and it is also a potent inhibitor of human recombinant Kv1.2 potassium channels. Veledimex (S enantiomer) is used as a research tool in cell biology, pharmacology, and neuroscience research. It binds to the receptor site on the channel protein and prevents the binding of other ligands such as acetylcholine or glutamate, which are important for neuronal signaling.
