This compound has also been shown to have a wide range of biological activities, such as antiinflammatory and antimicrobial effects, as well as anticancer activity. 7HMNCO has also been shown to function as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, including COX1 and COX2, which are responsible for producing prostaglandins.
