SC 19220 also binds to endothelin-a receptors and regulates prostaglandin levels. This protein may be involved in bowel disease, as it has been shown to bind to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products of DNA from bacteria that cause ulcerative colitis. SC 19220 also inhibits receptor activity for prostaglandin E2 and transcriptional regulation.
