2,3-Dichloropropionamide is a disinfectant that is used as an additive in water. It has been shown to react with chlorine and binds to the androgen receptor, which may be responsible for its bladder cancer-causing properties. The molecular docking studies of 2,3-dichloropropionamide with silico have shown that it can bind to the carcinogenic site on the androgen receptor by interacting with the key amino acid residues. This binding affinity of 2,3-dichloropropionamide with the androgen receptor makes it a potential candidate for bladder cancer therapy.
