Informations sur le produit
- n-Butyl n-hexyl acetylene
- Dodec-5-Yne
5-Dodecyne is a natural product that has been shown to inhibit the growth of Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is a hydrophobic compound that can be used as a coating on medical devices or as a pharmaceutical. 5-Dodecyne inhibits bacterial growth by binding to fatty acid synthesis enzymes, inhibiting their ability to synthesize fatty acids. This inhibition leads to the accumulation of acetyl-CoA and propionyl-CoA, which are converted into other metabolites such as pyruvate and succinate. The reaction products from this process can then be utilized by the bacteria for energy production instead of for synthesizing fatty acids.
