Informations sur le produit
- thiourea, N-2-thiazolyl-
- 1-(1,3-Thiazol-2-yl)thiourea
1,3-Thiazol-2-ylthiourea (TTU) is a non nucleoside inhibitor of HIV reverse transcriptase with an IC50 of 8.7 μM. It inhibits the reaction rate by binding to the polymerase active site and blocking the access of the nucleoside triphosphate substrate to this site. TTU has been shown to be effective against human immunodeficiency virus type 1 in vitro, but not against HIV type 2. The molecular descriptors for TTU are similar to those for inhibitors that have been found to be efficient against cancer cells in animals, suggesting that it may have anticancer activity in humans.
