1-Azidoheptane is a corrosion inhibitor that has been used as a replacement for trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TFMSA). 1-Azidoheptane is an organometallic compound with an azide group and an alkylthio group. It is fluorescent, colorless, nonflammable, and reactive. 1-Azidoheptane can be synthesized by reacting eugenol with nitro.
