Description

Tupichilignan A is a flavonoid that belongs to the class of dimethyl ethers. The chemical structure of this compound is similar to that of dibenzylbutyrolactone, which is found in the rhizomes of Curcuma chinensis. Tupichilignan A has shown anti-inflammatory activities against carrageenan-induced edema in rats and also has been shown to have a protective effect on the liver and kidney. This compound can be used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent for humans.
