Description

10-Hydroxyscandine is a monoterpenoid indole alkaloid that inhibits the production of cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β. 10-Hydroxyscandine has been shown to inhibit the transcriptional activity of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), which is involved in the regulation of gene expression. The molecular mechanism of 10-hydroxyscandine is not fully understood, but it appears to be a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis, cellular proliferation, and inflammation. 10-Hydroxyscandine also has an effect on other protein kinases, such as cyclin dependent kinase 2 (CDK2).
