D-Captopril is an analog of the drug captopril, which is used to treat hypertension and heart failure. This compound has been shown to have anticancer properties by inhibiting kinases that are involved in cancer cell growth and survival. D-Captopril has been found to induce apoptosis in human and Chinese hamster ovary cells. It also enhances the anticancer effects of chloroquine and artesunate, two drugs that are commonly used for cancer treatment. Additionally, D-Captopril has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice models. This compound is excreted via urine and may be a promising candidate for cancer therapy as a kinase inhibitor.
