Description

4-Hydroxycinnamamide is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit the enzyme activities of lysine and hydroxylysine residues. It also inhibits the growth of chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells in vitro, with an IC50 of 0.2 μM. 4-Hydroxycinnamamide may be used as an anti-cancer drug for the treatment of various cancers, including skin cancer and melanoma. This compound also has antioxidant properties, which make it a potential candidate for use in treating infectious diseases such as malaria and HIV/AIDS.br>br>
The mechanism behind 4-hydroxycinnamamide's anticancer effects is not well understood, but it appears to promote cellular uptake and prevent cell death by apoptosis.
