cis-3-Octen-1-ol is a terpene alcohol that is found in many plants, such as parsley, basil and thyme. It is also found in the kidney cell line. cis-3-Octen-1-ol has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells and may be used for cancer therapy. cis-3-Octen-1-ol can be detected using mass spectrometry or by solid phase microextraction on a kidney cell line.
