Description

6-Chloro-1-methyl-4-phenyl-2(1H)-quinazolinone (6MP) is a benzodiazepine derivative with hypnotic and sedative effects. It is a potent anticonvulsant and anxiolytic agent, which has been shown to be effective in the treatment of status epilepticus. 6MP has been detected by LC/MS/MS in human plasma at concentrations between 20 and 50 ng/mL. The recovery of 6MP from spiked human urine was found to be greater than 90%. This compound can also be detected by GC/MS, LC/MS, or HPLC.
6MP has been shown to have a molecular weight of 264.3 g/mol and an electronic molecular ion peak at m/z 271.
