5-Nitro-2-(propylthio)pyrimidine-4,6-diol is a chlorinated pyrimidine derivative that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of phosgene. It is made by reacting 5-nitrobenzotrifluoride with propylene oxide. 5NPP can be used to synthesize 1,3,5-trichloropropane (1,3,5-TCP). This chemical has been shown to react with phosgene to form chloropicrin.
