4-(2,4,5-Tripyridin-4-ylphenyl)pyridine is a homochiral ligand that can be used for luminescent labeling. It has been used as a hydrated form of the ligand in coordination chemistry. 4-(2,4,5-Tripyridin-4-ylphenyl)pyridine has also been used to study anions and geometries in coordination compounds. Crystals of this ligand are enantiopure and tetradentate, meaning it is capable of binding four metal ions. Single crystal x-ray diffraction experiments have shown that 4-(2,4,5-Tripyridin-4-ylphenyl)pyridine crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a lattice constant of a = 6.017 Å and two molecules per unit cell.
