CD2665 is a synthetic retinoid that inhibits the proliferation of gland cells by blocking the specific receptors for retinoic acid. CD2665 has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation in many types of cancer cells, including liver, colon, breast and leukemia. CD2665 also binds to transcriptional response elements and can activate or repress the transcription of genes. This drug has been shown to be effective in treating hepatic steatosis in mice, which may be due to its ability to regulate fat metabolism and increase the production of epidermal growth factor (EGF). The pluripotent activities of CD2665 are mediated by all-trans retinoic acid which plays an important role in embryonic development.
