GSK269962A HCl binds to β-catenin and prevents it from binding to DNA, thereby inhibiting the transcription of genes that are regulated by the Wnt signaling pathway. GSK269962A HCl has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of intestinal cells in culture and reduce the weight gain of mice that have been given a high-fat diet. This drug also inhibits pancreatic cancer cell growth and reduces tumor size in mice with pancreatic cancer. GSK269962A HCl has shown potential for use as a therapeutic agent for diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
