Description :4-Bromo-2-fluoro-5-methoxybenzoic acid is a carboxylic acid that is used as a synthetic intermediate in the production of some pharmaceutical drugs. 4-Bromo-2-fluoro-5-methoxybenzoic acid has been shown to be selective for isoforms of human cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, which are involved in drug metabolism. The physicochemical properties of this compound have been optimized for use as an inhibitor. 4-Bromo-2-fluoro-5-methoxybenzoic acid has also been shown to inhibit the growth of Gram negative bacteria by inhibiting their DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which maintain bacterial DNA integrity.
