Informations sur le produit
AFN-1252 is a fatty acid that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to enzymes and preventing them from functioning. It was originally developed as an antimicrobial agent but was abandoned because it had no effect on bacteria. AFN-1252 is currently being studied for its ability to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and for its potential use as a treatment for infectious diseases. The chemical structure of AFN-1252 consists of a hydroxyl group attached to an acyl chain at one end and an acetate ester at the other end. This compound binds to the enzyme cyclooxygenase, preventing it from functioning and inhibiting inflammation, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
