Description

2,4-Dimethyl-N-phenyl-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxamide (DTTC) is a compound that can be used as an optical bypassing agent. DTTC has been shown to have synergistic effects with both radiation and anti-tumor drugs. In the case of bacteria, DTTC has bactericidal activity against bacterial strains in the genus Pseudomonas and is effective at low doses. DTTC also has a polymeric matrix that can be used for treatment of plant diseases such as fruit tree pathogens. It is also possible to use this compound as an additive in benzene production processes.
DTTC is not toxic to humans, but it may cause skin or eye irritation.
