Description

Methyl 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carboxylate is a monomer that can be polymerized to form poly(methyl 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carboxylate) (PMQ). This monomer has been shown to have high yields and solvents. It is also soluble in ethylene, which accelerates the polymerization process. The formation constants for this monomer are thermodynamically favorable and solubility of PMQ in various solvents is good.
