Description

7-Hydroxy-6-methoxy-2-methyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2H)-one is an antiinflammatory drug that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of endothelial cells. It may be useful in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune diseases, and lymphoproliferation. 7-Hydroxy-6-methoxy-2-methyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2H)-one is a metabolite of aristolochic acid, which is found in many plants like Phellodendron amurense. This compound has been shown to have nematicidal properties and can be used as an absorption enhancer for other drugs such as chloride or p -hydroxybenzoic acid.
