Description :
Methyl 2-phenoxybenzoate is a benzodiazepine with a nucleophilic functional group. It has been shown to possess antitumor activity and neuroprotective effects. Methyl 2-phenoxybenzoate has been shown to be active against breast, prostate, and colon cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Methyl 2-phenoxybenzoate also possesses anticancer properties that are not related to its benzodiazepine activity. The anticancer activity of methyl 2-phenoxybenzoate is due to its ability to inhibit DNA replication by acting on the G2/M checkpoint, which is important for cell cycle progression. Methyl 2-phenoxybenzoate also possesses pharmacological activities, such as protection against oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory effects.
