• Description: 1-Nonen-3-ol is a fatty acid that is found in fish oils. It can be used as a marker for the presence of fatty acids, which are important components of lipids. 1-Nonen-3-ol has been shown to be catalysed by naphthalene and musca, and polymerized with seabass. The kinetic behaviour of 1-nonen-3-ol was studied under different conditions using solid phase microextraction and gas chromatography. This study showed that the rate of disappearance of 1-nonen-3-ol is dependent on the concentration of naphthalene or musca, and on the temperature.
