Description :
Chlorocyclohexyldimethylsilane is a chemical compound with the formula ClCH=CHSiCl. It is a colorless liquid that degrades in contact with air, water, and light. Chlorocyclohexyldimethylsilane has been used as a nitro-reduction agent to prepare nitroarenes. It can be used to synthesize organic compounds containing alkylsulfonyl and aminocarbonyl groups. This compound is also used for coating surfaces and in organic reactions, such as metathesis reactions. It reacts with hydrochloric acid to form chlorosilanes, which are used in the synthesis of polymers and plastics. Chlorocyclohexyldimethylsilane is soluble in organic solvents such as benzene and ether.
