Informations sur le produit
- 2-n-Hexyl-4-pentynoic acid
- 2-(Prop-2-Yn-1-Yl)Octanoic Acid
2-Hexyl-4-pentynoic acid is a neuroprotective agent that has been shown to reduce neuronal death in the brain when given as an acute treatment. It has also been shown to have homologous effects, which means it can be used as a clinical development tool for other neuroprotective compounds. 2-Hexyl-4-pentynoic acid is effective in both women and men, with plasma concentrations of the drug being dose dependent. This drug is currently being studied in clinical trials for long term use in cancer patients, but it may also have potential use in reducing the risk of dementia or Alzheimer's disease. 2-Hexyl-4-pentynoic acid works by inhibiting histone methylation, which prevents cells from dividing and reduces the formation of new neurons. Resazurin reduction assays show that this compound also inhibits cellular proliferation.
