Description

Goniodiol is a reaction product that has been shown to have antiproliferative effects in cancer cells. It is synthesized from leiocarpin and allyl bromide. Goniodiol has been found to be effective against autoimmune-related diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, and may be useful for the treatment of other autoimmune diseases and cancers. The synthesis of goniodiol can be achieved through a number of different reactions, such as asymmetric synthesis or stereoselective reactions. This molecule can also be pegylated to increase its half-life in the body, which would make it more suitable for long-term therapy.
