Description

Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. Ibuprofen has been shown to have an effect on the pharmacokinetics of ketoprofen. This study was conducted using Chinese healthy volunteers with a validated LC-MS/MS method. The study showed that ibuprofen is metabolized in vivo by cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes and the conversion of ibuprofen to its major metabolite takes place in the liver.
