Informations sur le produit
- Quinoline, 4-chloro-6,8-dimethyl-
4-Chloro-6,8-dimethylquinoline is a protonated form of 4-chloro-6,8-dimethylquinoline. It has been shown to be photochemically active in the wavelength range of 330-350 nm. The solubility of this compound is dependent on the solvent and it can be found in equilibrium with its two forms at room temperature. This compound is able to undergo photoisomerization between its two forms, which are determined by the polarity of the solvent and the pH value. The spirocyclic ring system present in 4-chloro-6,8-dimethylquinoline provides for a family of compounds that are thermochromic and photochromic. Quantum yield measurements have yielded a value of 0.2% for this compound at 350 nm, which is significantly lower than other quinoline derivatives such as naphthalene and plenum.
