Aramchol is a drug that has been shown to have therapeutic effects on infectious diseases. It has been shown to reduce the body mass index of mice, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fibrosis. Aramchol is a lipid-lowering agent that binds to ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) and inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol. This drug also prevents hepatic steatosis in mice by blocking the binding of inhibitor molecules to ABCA1.
