Description :
The fluoroquinolone antibiotic, 2-Amino-N-[(1,1'-biphenyl)-4-yl]-N-(4-bromophenyl)-9,9-dimethylfluorene is a pyrazolyl fluoroquinolone that has been shown to be an activator of PAI-1. It binds to the plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1) and inhibits its activity by binding to the N-terminal region of the protein. This binding prevents the formation of an enzyme complex with plasminogen and plasmin, which are necessary for fibrinolysis. As a result, this drug can be used to treat thrombotic conditions such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
