Description

Alpinumisoflavone is a natural compound found in the plant Alpinia officinarum. It has shown significant cytotoxicity against human osteosarcoma cells. Alpinumisoflavone has been shown to induce apoptosis of HL-60 cells through activation of caspase-3 and cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase. It also inhibits the proliferation of L1210 leukemia cells and induces cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase. The biological effects of alpinumisoflavone are mediated by the toll like receptor 4 (TLR4) and its downstream signaling pathways, including NF-κB, MAPK, and PI3K/Akt.
