Informations sur le produit
2-(5-Methyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl)benzoic acid is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits translation by binding to the ribosomes and blocking the attachment of amino acids. It has shown efficacy against chronic bacterial infections, including those caused by hippuric acid. 2-(5-Methyl-1H-tetrazol-1-yl)benzoic acid has also been shown to be active in a broad range of microorganisms, including gram positive and gram negative bacteria and yeast. The drug has been used clinically as an iron chelator because it binds to ferric iron ions, preventing them from participating in chemical reactions. This compound is also used in the synthesis of benzoate, which is a pharmaceutical intermediate used for the production of phenylbutazone and other drugs.
